  2.   WHAT IS SHAREWARE

  4.   Shareware describes a method of distributing copyrighted software in
  5.   which a user is allowed to fully evaluate the software before purchasing
  6.   it. After an evaluation period, the user is required to register the
  7.   product if he decides to keep using it.
  8.  
  9.   Shareware distribution addresses all of the legitimate complaints that
  10.   users have with commercial software distribution.
  11.  
  12.       * Shareware allows a user to fully evaluate a product,
  13.     free of charge, in his or her home or business, *before*
  14.     deciding to buy it.
  15.  
  16.       * Shareware programs can circulate freely on Bulletin
  17.     Boards, through Shareware disk distributors, or through
  18.     user groups.
  19.  
  20.       * Because Shareware distribution reduces the need to
  21.     advertise, Shareware is less expensive than commercial
  22.     software.
  23.  
  24.       * Shareware authors can often be more responsive to users'
  25.     requests for help or bug fixes than large software
  26.     companies.
  27.  
  28.       * Shareware software is never copy-protected.
  29.  
  30.   In short, Shareware is a user's dream come true.  Users show their
  31.   appreciation to developers for this extremely flexible distribution
  32.   scheme by registering their software. Without user registrations Shareware
  33.   would gradually disappear. It is not sufficient to simply let the other
  34.   guy pay the registration. You are the other guy's other guy. Please
  35.   Register.

  39.   VERALITE is distributed as-is. Clay Reid disclaims all warranties,
  40.   expressed or implied. Clay Reid will assume no liability for damages
  41.   either from the direct use of this product or as a consequence of the
  42.   use of this product.

  44.   LICENSE

  46.   Users of unregistered copies of the program are granted a LIMITED 30 day
  47.   license for use of VERALITE to evaluate the program's suitability for
  48.   their requirements. Usage of VERALITE beyond the evaluation period
  49.   requires registration of each copy of the program used.

  51.   You are free to distribute the PUBLICLY AVAILABLE shareware version of
  52.   VERALITE to others subject to the above restrictions and the following:

  54.      A.   No fee may be charged for its acquisition and/or use.
  55.  
  56.      B.   No remuneration may be accepted for VERALITE. This does
  57.       not apply to computer access charges the system
  58.       operators (SYSOPs) of organizations owning bulletin
  59.       board systems, online services, etc... may charge
  60.       subscribers.

  62.      C.   VERALITE must be copied in unaltered form, complete with
  63.       files containing license information, the FULL
  64.       documentation and all accompanying  files.

  66.      D.   All shareware houses/distribution firms must make
  67.       explicitly clear that the diskette purchase containing
  68.       this shareware program does NOT constitute registration
  69.       of the software with Clay Reid.

  72.   COMMERCIAL LICENSE

  74.   Commercial distributors of "Public Domain", "Shareware", and/or User
  75.   Supported Software may distribute VERALITE subject to the above
  76.   conditions.

  78.   WARRANTY

  80.   VERALITE is provided AS IS without any warranty, expressed or implied.
  81.   This includes without limitation the fitfulness to a particular purpose
  82.   or application and any warranties of merchantability.

  84.   I have been as thorough as possible while testing VERALITE. Clay Reid
  85.   shall not be liable for any damages, including any lost profits, lost
  86.   savings or other incidental or consequential damages arising out of your
  87.   use, misuse or inability to use the program, or for any claim by any
  88.   other party, or for any damages, whether direct, indirect, special, or
  89.   consequential arising from a failure of this program or accompanying
  90.   files to operate in a manner desired by the user. Clay Reid shall further
  91.   not be liable for any damage to data or property which may be caused
  92.   directly or indirectly by use of this program.

  94.   To those people who have registered (and have received a diskette), the
  95.   physical diskette is warranted against defects in materials and
  96.   workmanship for a period of 60 days from date of shipment by Clay Reid.
  97.   Any returned disks found damaged or bad will be replaced at no charge.

  99.   OPERATIONAL PROBLEMS

  104.   REGISTRATION

  106.   When you register VERALITE you will receive a registered disk without
  107.   the opening shareware screen, and updates that I will include. To
  108.   register VERALITE send a check or money order for 15 dollars to.
